Lou Gehrig Day Essay Challenge

MLB has a long-standing commitment to supporting the movement to end ALS, including commemorations on July 4th, which is the anniversary of Lou Gehrig's "Luckiest Man Alive" retirement speech. He joins other fellow Baseball Legends Jackie Robinson and Roberto Clemente as the only players whose legacies are celebrated with dedicated league-wide days.

THE CHALLENGE:

Join the Baltimore Orioles in celebrating Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig!

Submit an essay written by your child explaining why they consider themselves to be the luckiest person alive. Essay must be 250 words or less.

The top three (3) winners will be awarded the following:

  • 1st place: 4 tickets to game + on-field experience (winner must be fully vaccinated)
  • 2nd place: Orioles autographed item + Orioles promotional items
  • 3rd place: Orioles promotional items

The contest runs from June 17 - July 7, 2022. Submit Today!

Winners will be selected on July 8, 2022
